Students may pursue the Accelerated Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree Program and the Master of Professional Studies (MPrS) degree while pursuing any undergraduate major or minor at UNA. It is not expected that students seeking to complete the Master of Professional Studies degree must be pursuing an undergraduate major in Interdisciplinary Studies.
This information sheet, is designed to help students understand where they must be in completing their undergraduate degree in order to begin taking graduate courses to be applied to their MPrS:
1) Students should apply to participate in the Accelerated Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree Program the semester when they will have completed 59 undergraduate credit hours. At least one semester of full-time coursework must have been completed at UNA or will be completed the semester of application.
2) Students will be notified of their acceptance in the Accelerated Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree Program to pursue completion of the Bachelor and MPrS by the Spring semester of their Junior year.
3) Students will be advised into one MPrS “core” courses during the fall semester of their Senior Year. Graduate credit hours will be payable at the current rate for undergraduate tuition.
4) Students will be advised into one or two MPrS “core" courses during the spring semester of their Senior Year or one MPrS “core” course and one graduate course in their selected area of specialization. Graduate credit hours will be payable at current rate for undergraduate tuition.
The student may graduate with their bachelor degree at this time. They could ideally have completed 9 graduate credit hours of the 33-36 credit hour MPrS degree.
